Forex Trade Copier Free Demo
Test Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© before purchasing and see how Forex trades can be copied between MetaTrader accounts in your own MT4 or MT5 environment.
The free demo is fully functional for up to 4 hours at a time on demo accounts only. You can use it to test trade synchronization, transmitter and receiver configurations, lot sizing, symbol mapping, trade filters, pending orders, TP/SL management and other copying settings.
No purchase is required to test the demo.
Choose the version that corresponds to the MetaTrader platform you want to test:
If you want to test copying between MT4 and MT5, download both demo versions and install the corresponding version in each MetaTrader terminal.
Demo account only: The free demo versions operate on MetaTrader demo accounts and are intended for testing and evaluation before purchasing.
The free demo allows you to evaluate the actual trade-copying functionality of Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© in your own MetaTrader environment.
You can test:
MT4-to-MT4 trade copying
MT5-to-MT5 trade copying
MT4-to-MT5 and MT5-to-MT4 copying using both demo versions
multiple transmitter and receiver configurations
market and pending-order copying
different receiver lot sizes
lot multipliers and other lot-sizing methods
Forex symbol mapping
trade filters
Take Profit and Stop Loss synchronization
partial closures
receiver-specific settings
account-protection and risk-management options
Testing the copier with your own broker demo accounts is particularly useful because it allows you to check the symbol names and trading conditions used in your intended setup.
Open the MT4 or MT5 terminals that you want to use for testing.
You will normally need at least two MetaTrader terminals:
Transmitter — the account from which trades will be copied.
Receiver — the account to which trades will be copied.
Both accounts must be demo accounts when using the free demo version.
Download the appropriate free demo version from above:
Local Trade Copier EA MT4© Free Demo — for MetaTrader 4
Local Trade Copier EA MT5© Free Demo — for MetaTrader 5
If your setup includes both MT4 and MT5 terminals, download both corresponding demo versions.
In each MetaTrader terminal, go to:
File → Open Data Folder
Then open:
For MT4:
MQL4 → Experts
For MT5:
MQL5 → Experts
Place the downloaded Local Trade Copier EA demo file into the appropriate Experts folder.
For MT4:
MQL4 → Experts
For MT5:
MQL5 → Experts
Repeat this process for every MetaTrader terminal that will participate in your demo test.
Close and restart each MT4 or MT5 terminal after copying the demo file.
After restarting, the Local Trade Copier EA demo should appear in the Navigator → Expert Advisors section.
Open a chart in each MetaTrader terminal and attach Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© to it.
The particular Forex pair of the chart is not important for general copying because the EA manages the configured account-level copying activity.
Make sure automated trading is permitted in MetaTrader and for the EA.
On the MetaTrader account from which you want to copy trades, set:
Account Mode: Transmitter
This terminal will send the qualifying trading activity to the receiver account or accounts.
On the account that should receive the copied trades, set:
Account Mode: Receiver
Enter the appropriate transmitter account number in:
Transmitter Account Number
If you are using multiple transmitters, configure the account numbers according to the Settings & Inputs Guide.
Before testing, compare the Forex symbols used by the transmitter and receiver brokers.
If both accounts use:
EURUSD → EURUSD
no symbol-name adjustment is required.
If the transmitter has a dot suffix such as:
EURUSD.r → EURUSD
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© can handle the transmitter dot suffix automatically.
Other symbol-name differences require the appropriate custom mapping settings.
For example:
EURUSD → EURUSD.r
Set Suffix of the Receiver Account = .r
EURUSDm → EURUSD
Set Suffix of the Transmitter Account = m
EURUSD → EURUSDm
Set Suffix of the Receiver Account = m
For other substantially different symbol names, use the appropriate custom symbol-mapping settings.
This is particularly important when the transmitter and receiver demo accounts are held at different brokers.
Configure how the receiver should determine the size of copied trades.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© provides 18 lot-size and risk-management methods.
For a simple first test, you can select an appropriate straightforward method such as Same Lot Size or Fixed, and then test the more advanced methods separately.
The receiver lot size does not have to be identical to the transmitter lot size.
Open a small manual Forex trade on the transmitter demo account.
For example:
EURUSD Buy
Check that the corresponding trade appears on the intended receiver demo account according to your selected copying and lot-sizing settings.
You can then test:
closing the trade
changing TP/SL
partial closure
pending orders
Buy and Sell trades
different Forex pairs
different receiver settings
Use small demo positions so that the purpose of the test remains verifying the copier configuration rather than evaluating trading performance.

The Transmitter is the MetaTrader account where the original trades are opened.
The Receiver is the MetaTrader account where the corresponding trades are copied.
For multiple-account testing, additional receiver terminals can be configured with their own lot sizing, symbol mapping, trade filters and risk-management settings.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© Quick Setup Video
Watch the quick setup video below to see how Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is configured between transmitter and receiver MetaTrader accounts. You can follow the same process using the free demo versions on your demo accounts.
For a more detailed explanation of the available options, see the Forex Trade Copier Settings & Inputs Guide.
The free demo version of Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is fully functional for up to 4 hours at a time and operates on demo accounts only.
During this testing period, you can evaluate the copier's functionality and configure different transmitter and receiver settings according to your intended MetaTrader setup.
If you need additional testing time, the demo period can be reset on a suitable non-essential demo terminal using the procedure below.
To reset the free demo testing period:
1. Open the MetaTrader terminal containing the demo version.
2. Go to:
Tools → Global Variables
3. Press:
Ctrl + A
to select the Global Variables.
4. Select:
Delete
5. Restart the MetaTrader terminal and configure the Local Trade Copier EA demo again.
Important: Use the Global Variables reset procedure only in a non-essential demo MetaTrader terminal used for testing.
Deleting MetaTrader Global Variables removes the terminal's stored Global Variables and can affect other Expert Advisors or systems that depend on them.
Do not perform this reset procedure on a prop-firm challenge account, an important live trading terminal, or any MetaTrader installation containing Global Variables that you need to preserve.
The Local Trade Copier EA free demo itself is intended for demo-account testing only.
I would add one final practical section, but keep it short:
Before purchasing, use the free demo to verify the parts of the copier that matter to your intended Forex setup.
I recommend testing:
Trade Copying — Confirm that market trades open and close correctly.
Lot Sizing — Verify the resulting receiver volume.
Forex Symbol Mapping — Test any broker symbol-name differences.
TP/SL Management — Check initial levels and subsequent modifications.
Pending Orders — Verify the pending-order behavior you intend to use.
Partial Closures — Confirm receiver behavior when part of a transmitter position is closed.
Trade Filters — Make sure intended trades are copied and excluded trades remain excluded.
Multiple Receivers — If applicable, confirm that each receiver follows its own settings.
The purpose of the demo is to determine whether the software and your selected configuration work as intended in your MetaTrader environment. It is not a test of whether the underlying Forex trading strategy will be profitable.

Copying Forex trades between multiple MetaTrader accounts involves more than simply duplicating an order. Different brokers may use different symbol names, receiver accounts may have different balances and risk requirements, and MT4 and MT5 setups can require different configurations.
Our Forex trade copier guides explain these practical considerations and show how Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© can be configured for multiple Forex accounts, different brokers, symbol mapping, lot sizing and receiver-specific risk management.
